Alison & Matt: Engaged

Preview: Matt & Alison

Here’s a preview of Matt & Alison’s engagement session – definitely more to come :) :) :)

winner, winner!

I can’t believe how fast time flies!! I’ve got some winners and gift cards to give away to the peeps who took a guess back here (or have a crystal ball)…

Morgan actually guessed the closest without going over with February 24th..

But since Tara was the only person to guess her exact birth date, there’s a $15 iTunes gift card for hitting the actual date.

Rebekah nailed the weight exactly, as did Amber on the length (There were SOOOO many close guesses!!)

And the lucky winner of the portrait session? It goes to Jessica –  who was predicting twin boys. :)

I’ll be in contact with the winners shortly to send your winnings over!!

And now… Zoe time :)

she seems so peaceful when she sleeps..

and she has LOOONG eyelashes..

sleeeeeepy..

watch out, she bites..

and tries to hit the camera..

the basket just looked too comfy..

why hello there!

introductions : zoe elizabeth

It’s been just over a month since Zoe decided to join us, and I can’t even begin to describe how fast life happens. So fast, it’s almost surreal.

While taking these pictures, it hadn’t registered yet. It didn’t register when I watched them clean her up, or when they were weighing and measuring her. Time just seemed to stand still.

Zoe was breech, so Ashley didn’t get to hold her immediately – but when it was time to go see her for the first time, the nurse offered to take a picture of me holding her. I handed her the camera, and she asked “Are you sure you trust me with this?” Little did she know – I felt the same way. I have to admit: I don’t think I have been so intimidated before. Who knew something so small could be so big?

I’m so incredibly proud of Ashley – the c-section wasn’t planned, nor the 5 day hospital stay – but she has been amazing nonetheless.

Ever wonder what a c-section looks like first hand?

First time seeing Zoe.

She came out folded in half.. and asleep. Super comfortable if you ask me.

Annndd.. still asleep.

Feet in the air please:

First time she looks at me.. almost as if to say “Who are you again? And where am I?”

Proof she’ll have a sense of humor.

Can you do this with your toes?

More footprints..

The outside of the “crib” made a good footrest.

Sweet dreams.

Rock Chalk.

She’s already famous.

She still has random moments like this – and I still find it entertaining.

She is just beautiful Phillip! Congratulations! You will be amazing parents. Please keep the pictures coming it is wonderful to see her.

[coming soon]

She’s perfect.

I’ll reserve a formal blog post in the next few days for all of the details once I’ve had a few hours of sleep, but wanted to give everyone an update on our “surprise”. We welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world at 8:10 AM yesterday morning, and I can think of very few things in life that can cause such an enormous amount of anxiety, inspiration, nervousness, and joy. So much, that we are still trying to decide what to name her!! (ok, we have it narrowed down.. but all the names we picked out just didn’t quite fit) We are extremely, extremely thankful for ALL the thoughts, prayers, and wonderful congratulations we’ve received. I had a brief chance to look back on Facebook, and it just made me smile. Really, really BIG. It was incredible to see so much love!! THANK YOU!!

I’ve got some winners to announce and prizes to give out, and some images from our big day that I can’t wait to share with everyone! We’ve got a few more days of recovery for mom, but until then, I’ll try to suffice you with a picture just after our little bundle got all pretty:
